Global Youth Service Day: Project
Beautifying Woodley Park
Project Date: 4/25/2009
| Project Description |
|
Beautifying Woodley Park: Spring is a prime tourist season for the Woodley Park Community. One group of youth volunteers will pick up trash, plant debris, and other unsightly objects on Woodley Road, spanning an area from 29th Street to Connecticut Avenue. By taking this initiative, the youth volunteers will gain a greater appreciation for the natural beauty of our community, understand its fragility if abused or neglected, and become more aware of the effects of their daily actions, e.g., by not littering.
